Stamp Fairtex Becomes Atomweight GP Champion Via Submission Over Phogat
The biggest drawback of the Fairtex Stamp as it entered the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix Championship Final was the ground game.
However, the submission technique of the former master of both disciplines proved to be the deciding factor at ONE: WINTER WARRIORS which takes place in Singapore on Friday, 3 December.
The Thai superstar removed any doubts about his weakness in grappling, and demonstrated his evolution as a mixed martial artist by submitting Ritu “The Indian Tigress” Phogat via armbar before snatching the prestigious silver belt from the tournament.

Phogat charged aggressively from the side of the Circle as the opening bell rang, throwing in a few feints and aiming for a takedown. However, Stamp – a former ONE Atomweight Muay Thai and Kickboxing World Champion – neutralized the situation with a sprawl before catching Phogat in the head and slamming in a powerful left knee strike.
When “The Indian Tigress” again tried to land another takedown, he was again thwarted and hit by one of the knees of the former queen of the two disciplines. The Evolve MMA athlete was frustrated with his opponent's strong defense, but that didn't break his desire to bring the fight to the canvas.
On his third try, he was able to bring the fight to the ground, but Stamp quickly returned to stand-up action, indicating that he is fully prepared for his Indian rival's game plan. Currently, the intention of the Thai woman to stay in the clinch position on the Circle wall continues to trouble Phogat.

In the second round, “The Indian Tigress” again targeted the takedown, but this time the Thai fighter was not afraid to release his signature punches and right kicks.
However, Stamp opened a gap to his forelegs in an exchange of attacks, and Phogat capitalized on that. He was aiming for a single-leg takedown and once again brought the fight to the ground.
At the moment, the Fairtex representative's grappling skills look solid, where from that position – which came as a surprise to those watching at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, fans around the world and Phogat himself – it was the Indian sensational wrestler who had to worry about the action on canvas.
